Into the Embrace
Grand entrances can produce lasting memories that infect generations. People often forget the trivial actions that take place in their lives, but one singular moment can blaze into the DNA of one's self. South Carolina knew this feeling all too well. One day, the mediocrity cascading down upon them became nothing more than a firework spectacle, a meager symbol of their failures. All of their calls for greatness had been answered. The champion had returned. The gorgeous one. Tyler Austin was home.
His journey to find the depths of his soul had led him out into the world, but his will beckoned him back to his stomping grounds. Home was where his heart was, but he knew his territory needed more. He had only one intention. The crown was without a head, and the throne was empty. So, without a second to miss, he began to unfold his next masterpiece, which answered a simple question: Who else was worthy but him? WHO!?
After dropping his latest album, Crying's Hard to Come By, our interest in both his project and his persona led us to an introspective interview with the Irmo, SC Native.

(Producer of "Good on U")
If you’ve known Tyler or been a fan of his music, then listening to Crying's Hard to Come By is like rediscovering him. There’s a level of growth there that you can only appreciate if you’ve been a fan for a while. Tyler's skills are even sharper, his mind is a lot more open, and it’s translating into his music very well. You can hear it in his pen—how calculated and intentional his subject matter is. Tyler’s always been very personal with his music, but he takes it to another level on this record, which leaves you to ask, “What’s next?”

Drawing Parallels
(Five more questions about Tyler Austin)
1) What were you most unsure of when you started your art career?
Myself.
2) What other art form lends the most inspiration to your music?
Cooking, for sure. From learning a new recipe or skill to controlling chaos during service, I gain tons of inspiration in the kitchen.
3) Is there an art form that you dislike?
Deathmatch wrestling. It makes no sense to me.
4) Which element of your art gives you the hardest time, and what’s your favorite element?
The first line of a song is the toughest, and honestly, I enjoy performing the most.
5) Are there any settings or locations that you could suggest to the audience that would help them digest Crying's Hard to Come By to a greater effect?
The perfect setting, for me, is to listen to the album from midday to late at night while sitting on the porch, patio, driveway, etc. I would recommend wearing headphones—no speakers—with a jay and a nice, cold glass of your favorite refreshment. Vibe out.

(Designer of Crying's Hard to Come By Album Cover)
To me, and this is my honest opinion, Crying’s Hard To Come By is his best project by far, and I know he’s only going to get better from here. The world should be listening to this album because it will go down as classic material, and I believe it will be one of his quintessential projects.
